Education

Education – Experiencing and understanding nature

Exciting encounters with nature and getting hands-on to help the natural world turn learning into an adventure. Interactive activities such as guided nature walks, exhibitions and special educational programmes for school groups and nursery schools enable visitors to experience the local natural world with all their senses. They promote sustainable thinking and impart knowledge about the relationship between people and nature, the unique biodiversity within the nature park, the formation of natural and cultural landscapes, and their sustainable use.

The educational programmes offered by the Föhrenberge Nature Park inspire children, young people and adults alike. Together with educational institutions, organisations and nature interpreters, we promote environmental awareness, impart knowledge about species, habitats and sustainable management, and encourage people to get involved in landscape conservation.

Strong educational partnerships

Nature park schools and kindergardens in the Föhrenberge Nature Park combine education with experiencing nature. Children explore forests, meadows and their inhabitants right on the spot, and experience ecological interrelationships with all their senses. This fosters an understanding of nature, a sense of responsibility and a strong connection to their own region.
