Mobility in the Föhrenberge Nature Park

In the Föhrenberge Nature Park, visitors have a range of transport options to choose from. Whether on foot for a stroll or a hike, by bike on selected routes, or in an environmentally friendly way by train and bus – there are many ways to explore this natural and cultural landscape, teeming with life, at a leisurely pace.

A walk through the nature reserve

Walking and hiking are among the most popular ways to explore the Föhrenberge Nature Park. An extensive network of paths leads through woods, across meadows and to numerous viewpoints and huts – ranging from leisurely family walks to scenic hikes up into the hills.

Out and about on a bike

The Föhrenberge Nature Park is also ideal for exploring by bike. Cycling routes link the nature park’s localities along scenic paths, whilst mountain bike trails wind through forests and along selected paths. Please stay on the designated paths to protect nature and habitats and to ensure that everyone – including walkers and hikers – can enjoy the area without any conflicts. 

Bicycle hire in the nature park

If you don’t have your own bike with you, you can also explore the Föhrenberge Nature Park on a hire bike. Practical bikes can be hired round the clock at the nextbike hire stations in the nature park’s local authorities. Please note that some local authorities operate a winter service from mid-November to mid-March.
