Before every ride, check that the brakes, tires, and suspension fork/shock are in good working order. Always ride with an eye out for hazards and at a controlled speed, and choose a route that suits the group’s riding ability and the terrain. The Fair Playrules must be observed at all times. Single/shared trails, as well as built trails in trail parks and trail centers, often feature rocks, roots, steep sections, steps, and sharp turns that require a certain level of riding skill. If in doubt, simply dismount and walk your bike.

A safe and roadworthy mountain bike is a prerequisite for all routes. A helmet and gloves provide protection in the event of a fall, and knee and elbow pads can be added when riding on single/shared trails. A modern mountain bike with disc brakes and sufficient tire tread is recommended. For single and shared trails rated red difficulty or higher, a full-suspension bike with modern geometry is recommended. Tools, a tire lever, a pump, and a spare tube will help in case of a flat tire. You should also carry enough food and drink, as well as a cell phone and a windbreaker or rain jacket.

We start at the Wiener Hütte, and ride through the Leopoldsdorfer Wald in the direction of Kalksburg. Once we reach the outskirts of Kalksburg, we will be riding in the direction of Perchtoldsdorf, via Willergasse. After covering a length of ca. 500 m, we turn left onto the Waldmühlgasse, which runs along the rail tracks. We then follow the Waldmühlgasse for a while and then turn right over the tracks onto Kaltenleutgebner Straße. After following the Kaltenleutgebner Straße for 700 m, we turn left onto a byway. We then cycle through Kaltenleutgeben and ride up Karlsgasse in the direction of the Wiener Hütte.

Take the A21 to the Brunn am Gebirge exit, then the B12 to Ketzergasse; turn left there, take the B13 to Hochstraße, continue on Hochstraße to Kaltenleutgebner Straße; turn right there, and follow Kaltenleutgebner Straße to Wienergrabenstraße; turn right there and continue to Wiener Hütte.

Coming from the west: Take the A1 to the Steinhäusl interchange, then the A21 to the Heiligenkreuz exit, passing through Sittendorf, Sulz im Wienerwald, and Kaltenleutgeben to Wiener Hütte.
